SCREENING OF INFERTILE FEMALES FOR LOWER GENITAL TRACT INFECTIONS

Introduction: Infertility has been known to cause serious social and emotional problems worldwide. Besides other causes of female infertility, the role reproductive tract infection is well recognized. Lower genital infection, be it symptomatic or asymptomatic, need diagnosed treated properly. In view this our study was done. Aim & Objectives: To evaluate bacteriological profile lower in infertile females. Methodology: It a cross sectional type study. After taking consent, three swabs (high vaginal swab, endocervical swab from lateral wall) were taken 100 women. A questionnaire covering demographic data, menstrual history, medical history etc. completed for each participants. Isolation identification isolates done as per conventional techniques. Antibiotic Susceptibility Testing aerobic CLSI guidelines. Results: study, 47% females asymptomatic majority them showed positive microbiological growth. E.coli S.aureus most common Prevotella spp. anaerobic isolate. Majority anaerobes associated with bacterial vaginosis. susceptible Gentamicin. Conclusion: The absence clinical symptoms does not rule out possibility an ongoing acute inflammatory state due infective agents. Hence, both should screened infections consequences may lead infertility.
